WHAT WE BELIEVE...
We believe in the one true God, the Creator of all things, who reveals Himself as Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit.
We believe in Jesus Christ, God's one and only Son, who is fully God and fully man at the same time, who became like us to bring about our salvation.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is active in the world, bringing us to salvation and empowering us to live the regenerate life (spiritually reborn or new life through Jesus Christ).
We believe that the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God, containing all truth necessary to saving faith and holy Christian living.
We believe that we are all sinners both by nature (original sin) and act (actual or personal sin). Every person is born with a fallen (sinful) nature and is, therefore, inclined to evil (sin), and that continually. Actual or personal sin is a voluntary violation of a known law of God by a morally responsible person.
Without the intervening work of God’s grace through His Son Jesus Christ, we are hopelessly lost. Glorious and everlasting life in heaven with God is assured to all who sincerely believe in Jesus Christ, repent of their sins, and obediently follow Jesus; and that the finally impenitent (those choosing not to believe and trust in Jesus and repent of their sins) shall suffer eternally in hell.
We believe the loving sacrifice of Jesus on the cross (His suffering and death on the cross for our sins and His resurrection from the dead) provides atonement for sin available to every person. We believe God, through the Holy Spirit, calls and enables us to believe and trust in Jesus and to repent (to turn from sin and to turn to God), but that He does not force us to do so.
We believe that each person must make their own decision whether to change direction and turn away from their sins (repent) and trust Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.
We believe that when we turn from sin and trust in Jesus Christ as our Savior the old record of sin is forgiven and wiped clean, and we are regenerated or born anew (born again), thus becoming part of the family of God.
We believe that those who experience this new life through the grace of God and faith in Jesus Christ will encounter the invitation of God to enter into a life of full surrender to God, empowered by the Holy Spirit, resulting in being thoroughly and joyously set apart (sanctified) to live victoriously and exclusively for God, loving others with the perfect love we ourselves receive from God.
We believe that all who have received this new life in Christ are the Church and that the church is the active Body of Christ in the world today.
We believe the church functions as the body of Christ with gifts and graces made alive in each person by the Word of God and energized by the Holy Spirit for the purpose of fulfilling God’s plan for the world until Christ returns.
We believe in water baptism as an outward sign of the inward death of our old sinful nature and the birth of a new life in Jesus Christ. We celebrate communion in remembrance of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross as the atonement for our sins that makes this change possible.
We believe in the reality of divine healing as witnessed in the Bible. We pray for healing; we pray for God's will to be done in all things. We believe God is the healer whether He chooses to do so through direct (divine) intervention or medical science.
We believe our Lord Jesus Christ is coming again, the dead will be raised, and the final judgment will take place.
