Youth Ministries

Nazarene Youth International (NYI):

The youth ministries in our church are geared for teens or middle and high school students (6th-12 grades). Within our denomination and our Wisconsin District Church of the Nazarene, the typical ages for NYI (Nazarene Youth International) activities and events are for teens or youth in grades 7-12.

We believe teens are important and they have great value in our eyes and God's eyes. They are the future. We desire to reach out to teens and the whole family through our various youth ministries. We want to help teens come to know, love, and serve God and develop a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe this will help provide an important spiritual foundation and stability that can have positive, lasting, exponential effects the rest of their life.

Our youth ministries include:

  • Sunday School at 10:00 am on Sundays. We have Sunday school (Christian education/spiritual formation/discipleship) classes for children, teens, and adults.
  • Youth Group: We currently do not have weekly or "regular" youth group meetings, but we do try to plan various activities just for the youth every couple months. Past activities have included pizza parties, game nights, bonfires, concerts, and other get togethers.
  • Christmas Program: We usually have a Christmas program (a play, skit, or story) each year that the children and teens can be involved in if they want to. There are practices that usually start 4-6 weeks before the Christmas program which is usually the Sunday before Christmas.
  • NYI (Teen) Camp: This fun 6-day summer camp is for teens (youth who have completed 7th grade through age 18) and is through our Wisconsin District Church of the Nazarene. The 2018 NYI (teen) camp is scheduled for June 17-22 in Mattoon, WI. For more information and registration forms you can click on the link to our district church's website:
  • District NYI Celebrate Life: This is a talent and sports celebration and competition for teens (grades 7-12) through our Wisconsin District Church of the Nazarene. It is usually held in March or April every year and those who qualify get to advance to the regional NYI Celebrate Life at Olivet Nazarene University (ONU) in May.
  • NYI (Teen) Winter Retreat: This fun weekend winter retreat is for teens (grades 7-12) and is through our Wisconsin District Church of the Nazarene. The 2018 Winter Retreat will be January 26-28 at Camp Forest Springs in Westboro, WI.
  • *We may also have other activities or events throughout the year for the youth and/or the whole family. *In your ongoing discussions with your children and teens about safety, appropriate behavior, and social skills in all areas of life, would you like a tool to help teach, reinforce, and encourage your children and teens about these important things? There is a link to a short video below that you can click on to watch with your kids. The context of this video is children & youth programming, and it reviews 3 rules and 6 boundaries to help kids stay safe and avoid/prevent inappropriate behaviors:
